The Upload Incident Narrative Document option allows the officer to use a local word processor to complete the narrative for an incident and to upload said document to the server allowing Police Records the ability to open the narrative and copy/paste the information into the records system. This process helps avoid re-keying data and maintains informaiton consistency thus reducing re-typing errors and errors in the incident reports.
MS Word or Wordpad is used to type the narrative from the mobile unit or any local machine. The file is then uploaded via the Police Mobile Start page (http://www.ShawneeOK.org/Mobiles) and stored on one of the COS servers. From there the Records department can access the files via the Police Department Internal start page. The Records department can then open the file and use the Copy
