ITEM ONE:
CONSIDER AND APPROVAL OF CONSENT AGENDA
1. Minutes from the February 20th and March 5th 2008 meetings
2. Staff reports
Motion was made Mike Langley and seconded by Jack Barrett to approve the minutes with corrections.
AYE: Adcock, Barrett, Beck, Langley.
NAY: none
ABSTAIN: Roach
ITEM TWO:
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Jack Barrett gave report on his tour of the T-Hangers and the work that needs to happen with there preventive maintenance. Rex Hennen said cost of these repairs will be ready by next meeting.
No action taken.
ITEM THREE:
CONSIDER LEASE WITH Y.M.C.A.
Lease was discussed by Rex Hennen and he said item 5.7 “Lessee will be responsible for the installation of air conditioning to existing building” and 5.8 “ Lessee will be responsible for the installation and/or realignment of the perimeter fencing” need to be specified that will need to supervised by the city. Lease term should be adjusted so it coincides with the city’s fiscal year.
Motion to recommend that the Airport Authority approve the lease was made by Jack Barrett and seconded by Lori Roach.
ITEM FOUR:
DISCUSS STATUS OF YOUTH AVIATION ADVENTURE PROGRAM EVENT SCHEDULE MAY 3RD
The planned event will take place May 3rd between the hours of 8 am and 2 pm at the Gordon Cooper Aviation Career Center according to Bill Beck. The Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts had been contacted and both groups said they would e-mail brochures to scout masters. Bill Beck also contacted Jim Gardener from Channel 4. Mr. Gardener scheduled to bring their helicopter. Volunteers will be needed to man the booths. Snacks will be needed for the morning and also for the afternoon. Jack Barrett said he would contact the Citizen Potawatomi Nation about providing snacks. A letter has been written to the regional manager of Staples to donate the cost of the handbooks for the student at the program, they said they would donate half the cost of printing the handbooks. The idea was brought up about making the first Saturday in May Youth Aviation Day. Carl Holt said something like that should be brought to the Mayors attention.
ITEM FIVE:
DISCUSS FLY-IN SCHEDULED JUNE 14TH, 2008
Rex had meeting with the Downtown Shawnee Director, still working out details of the breakfast.
ITEM SIX:
DISCUSS STATUS OF TERMINAL BUILDING PROJECT.
Still on a wait and see how the grant process unfolds. A meeting is scheduled with the terminal design committee and the engineer to discuss design costs.
ITEM SEVEN:
SET DATE FOR AIRPORT WORK DAY
Rex said Jim Hunt wanted to paint flag poles on Saturday April 12th . Volunteers are needed to help scrape and paint the exterior of the terminal building. Work will start at 9am.

Bill Beck Brought details about a state of the art hangers. The committee decided that the hangers should be brought to the facility committee for further review.
